Police: Singer Chris Brown arrested, charged with felony assault in fight near W Hotel in DC

    WASHINGTON — Police say singer Chris Brown has been arrested in Washington after a fight broke out near the W Hotel.

    District of Columbia police spokesman Paul Metcalf says 24-year-old Brown was arrested and charged with felony assault today. Metcalf says 35-year-old Chris Hollosy also was arrested on felony assault charges after the incident. Metcalf says both are being held in police custody until Monday.

    The arrest was first reported by TMZ.

    The incident started just before 4:30 a.m. today. The W Hotel is near the White House.

    Police say one man was injured and was reportedly taken to a hospital. Metcalf says that as of this afternoon, he has been released. Police have not identified the victim or give details on his injuries.
