Girl, 16, ends record try, decides to fix sailboat

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - An Ohio man has been charged after authorities saw him with a gun in a North Carolina airport parking lot as Air Force One was departing Sunday.

Joseph McVey, 23, is charged with going armed in terror of the public, a misdemeanor, Asheville Regional Airport Police Capt. Kevan Smith said.

Airport police saw Mr. McVey get out of a car in the rental car return lot and he had a gun, Captain Smith said. He was taken into custody immediately.

President Obama was leaving after vacationing in the state. Mr. McVey was nowhere near the President's plane.

CAMBRIDGE, Minn. - The Minnesota State Patrol said alcohol may have been a factor in a car crash that killed six people, including three teenagers.

Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske said there was a smell of alcohol from a car that collided with a sport utility vehicle early yesterday on Highway 95 about 40 miles north of Minneapolis.

The patrol said the car was driven by a 16-year-old who got her license less than three weeks ago. She was hospitalized in serious condition.

MARINA DEL REY, Calif. - A 16-year-old Southern California girl hoping to become the youngest person to sail around the world alone has ended her quest and will head to South Africa for boat repairs.

Abby Sunderland wrote on her blog Saturday that it would be "foolish and irresponsible" to keep going after losing use of her boat's main autopilot.

NEW YORK - The average price for gasoline did not change from levels reached about two weeks ago, capping the end of a five-week rise in prices, according to the Lundberg survey.

A gallon of gas as of April 23 cost $2.85 on average.

In the contiguous United States, motorists in Chicago paid the highest average price of $3.15 for self-service, regular unleaded gasoline.

The lowest average price was in Tulsa, Okla., at $2.60 a gallon.

CLEVELAND - The Ohio Lottery's Classic Lotto jackpot for tonight is $8.6 million because no ticket in Saturday's $8.4 million game had the numbers drawn (12, 17, 19, 28, 31, 43).

In Michigan, the Classic Lotto 47 jackpot for Wednesday will be $1.4 million because no ticket in Saturday's $1.3 million game had the numbers drawn (3, 12, 17, 28, 29, 33).

ORLANDO, Fla. - None of the tickets sold for the $20 million Powerball game Saturday night matched all six numbers drawn (1, 12, 53, 56, 57, Powerball 5). The prize goes to about $30 million for Wednesday.
