DENVER — More heavy rain is drenching the Colorado town of Manitou Springs three days after a deadly mudslide.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning today, but no flooding was immediately reported. State highway officials closed the main highway through town as a precaution.

Rain falling on an area burned by a wildfire last year triggered flash floods and a mudslide Friday that killed a driver. Another person remains missing.

Earlier today, Fire Chief Keith Buckmiller ruled out the possibility that a woman hospitalized for injuries she suffered in the flood was the missing person.

The hospitalized woman had been rescued from a tree. Initial reports had said the missing person was also in a tree, but Buckmiller says that was incorrect.
