Emergency crews respond to Pa. industrial park explosion and reports of injuries

GREENVILLE, Pa. — There’s been an explosion at a western Pennsylvania industrial park holding fuel tanks. Police and firefighters have responded amid unconfirmed reports of injuries.

The explosion happened at about 5:45 p.m. today at Brownies Oil Co. in the Reynolds Industrial Park in Mercer County. The industrial park is in Greenville, a remote borough of around 6,000 people located about 80 miles northeast of Pittsburgh and near the Ohio line.

Emergency crews are at the scene investigating the cause of the explosion.

A dispatcher at the county 911 center says the site contains bulk diesel or propane refueling tanks. Other details aren’t available. There have been unconfirmed media reports of injuries.

A telephone message left at Brownies Oil Co. hasn’t been returned.
