Authorities: Shots fired into northeast Detroit home, striking baby girl in left cheek

DETROIT — Authorities say a one-year-old girl is in the hospital after being shot in the face in a Detroit home.

Detroit Police Department spokeswoman Kelly Miner says someone outside fired shots into the house on the city’s northeast side late Friday night that struck the child. Miner says police have no description of the suspect or a vehicle but are investigating.

The girl was struck in the left cheek and is listed in temporary-serious condition.

She said police had no more details to release this morning.
