CALEXICO, Calif. — Border Patrol agents have seized a stash of cocaine hidden in a car dashboard at the Calexico crossing with Mexico.

Agents stopped a Chrysler 200 sedan Wednesday and recovered more than 33 pounds of cocaine.

The Imperial Valley Press reports the drug was wrapped in 14 packages and had an estimated street value of $331,000.

Jaime Lopez Jr., of San Ysidro, was arrested and booked into jail. According to a court complaint, Lopez was supposed to leave the car in a restaurant parking lot and then cross into Mexicali to deliver the keys and get paid.
