CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 21-year-old Macomb County man has been charged in the death of an unborn baby and injuring the mother in a traffic accident.

The Detroit Free Press reports that the motorist was expected to be arraigned Monday in 41B District Court in Clinton Township on charges of operating while intoxicated causing death and operating while intoxicated causing serious injury.

Paj Yang remains in critical condition at an area hospital. The 24-year-old pregnant Roseville resident was driving Friday evening in nearby Clinton Township when her vehicle was hit by a car that passed through a red light. Yang was in her third trimester.
