PHILADELPHIA— Police say 12 people were injured when a food truck exploded in North Philadelphia and three suffered serious burns.

Philadelphia police said the Tuesday afternoon incident outside an auto body shop in the city’s Feltonville neighborhood caused serious burns to a man and woman and 13-year-old girl. Police say the nine other victims were taken to the hospital for observation.

WCAU-TV says the incident occurred at La Parrillada Chapina food truck.

A city fire dispatcher tells The Associated Press the call came in around 5:30 p.m. She says the incident is still being investigated.

The two adult victims were being treated at Einstein Medical Center and the teen was being transferred to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.
