Texas teen arrested and charged with shooting parents dead

DALLAS -- A 16-year-old Texas boy has been charged with two counts of murder on suspicion of shooting his parents dead on Monday inside the family's home in an affluent Dallas suburb, police said.

The teen, who was not identified because he is a minor, was arrested at home and taken to the Collin County Juvenile Detention Center, police said. The victims were Ryan Callens, 48, and his wife, Maria Elena Callens, 49.

Police in the Dallas suburb of Frisco have not released other details about the shootings or the motive. There were other family members in the home, and they were not injured, police said.
