DETROIT — Detroit police say a 5-year-old girl has been wounded in a shooting on the city’s east side.

The Detroit Free Press and WWJ-AM report the child was riding in a car late Sunday when shots were fired from another vehicle.

A relative, who wasn’t injured, drove the girl to a hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Detroit police spokeswoman Jennifer Moreno says Monday that no arrests were immediately made. Police are seeking tips from the public.
