Local friends just can’t agree on pumpkin pudding recipe

Greg Churilla’s quest for his favorite pudding recipe has involved a billboard, a cow, and a chicken.

He didn’t expect this increasingly wacky journey six months ago when he first tasted his friend’s pumpkin dish. Then again, Mr. Churilla didn’t anticipate local businessman Philip Roth wouldn’t share the recipe.

“It was just this wonderful, light, creamy pumpkin pudding that’s like pumpkin pie without the pie,” Mr. Churilla said. “It’s one of my favorite dishes now, and he wouldn’t give me the recipe. He refuses.”
