Planning documents are being made available to help communities across America cope with the devastation caused by the emerald ash borer.

The reports were developed by Michigan's Department of Natural Resources and Department of Agriculture with help from the Southeast Michigan Resource Conservation & Development Council, Michigan State University, the Michigan Urban and Community Forestry Council, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Services, and the federal agriculture department's Forest Service.

The document provides tips on items such as budget, timelines, tree removal, wood utilization and disposal, and tree planting.
