Jamie Goetz

Blissfield High School

Jamie Goetz, a senior from Riga, plans to attend Michigan State University and become a counseling psychologist for children diagnosed with terminal illnesses. She has a 4.16 grade-point average and enjoys English and psychology.

A member of the National Honor Society, Jamie has achieved 1st and 2nd Team All-League and All-Regional in track and several scholar-athlete awards.

Jamie is president of student council, a drum major for the high school marching band, and is a member of the BLISS mentor program and the varsity basketball and track teams.

She is a Junior Rotarian, assistant second-grade religious education teacher, and an altar server and lector at St. Peter's Parish. She is also a Relay for Life volunteer and participant, and a Make a Difference Day volunteer.

"Jamie is a very positive, upbeat leader," said Jerry Johnson, principal of Blissfield High. "She is a hard worker who inspires others toward a common goal."

She is the daughter of Gary and Laurie Goetz.
