Gerald Borawski of Monroe, a 2007 graduate of St. Mary Catholic Central High School, has received the William J. and Jennie E. Bacarella academic scholarship of $1,000 from Monroe County Community College.
Mr. Borawski is majoring in business and psychology.
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be majoring in a business-related curriculum and be enrolled in at least six credit hours of classes.
The community college has also awarded the Midway Products-Lyman E. Hoyt Memorial Scholarship of $1,000 to Omar Ferdin of Monroe.
The scholarship was established in honor of Monroe resident Lyman Hoyt, who founded Midway Products Group in 1956.
It is available to full-time MCCC students enrolled in automotive technology, mechanical design technology, mechanical engineering technology, manufacturing technology, or welding technology.
