    • Visitors to the Navarre-Anderson Trading Post on North Custer Road in Monroe last weekend had the opportunity to learn about life as a fur trader in the area in the 1790s. John Gibney, director of the Monroe County Historical Museum, explains the workings of a flintlock musket to Cameron Craig, 10, of Monroe.

It will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be demonstrations on scraping and pressing animal skins and re-enactors cooking period food over open wood fires.
