Bedford says paying by check still OK

TEMPERANCE - Bedford Township Treasurer Sherri Meyer wants township residents to know that they can still pay winter property tax bills with personal checks.

The tax bills, which went out shortly before Thanksgiving, included a notice that delinquent payments must be made in cash or cashier checks.

Mrs. Meyer said that personal checks will be accepted prior to Feb. 17, 2009. She said the notice apparently confused some residents who thought that they would no longer we able to pay with personal checks.
