Guitarist from Detroit set to play at Feb. 17 show in Blues Series

The Monroe County Library System s annual Black History Month Blues Series continues with a performance by Rev. Robert B. Jones with Blair at 7 p.m. Feb. 17.

Rev. Jones, who has headlined the Monroe Blues Series since its inception, will rock the Bedford Branch Library, 8575 Jackman Rd., in Temperance, at a free concert.

Since beginning the Blues Series with his 1988 performance, Detroiter Robert Jones has returned each year to share his unique, engaging approach to roots music from Blues to Gospel.

For his first appearance at the Bedford Library, he ll be joined by Detroit Urban Folk, Afro-Punk, Poet, Singer, Songwriter Blair.

Support for the series comes from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs, the National Endowment for the Arts, and community co-sponsors Monroe Community College, the La-Z-Boy Foundation, DTE Energy Foundation, Friends of Bedford, Friends of Carleton, Friends of Dorsch Memorial Library, Friends of Ellis, Friends of Navarre, Detroit Blues Society, Black Swamp Blues Society, and the Holiday Inn Express & Suites of Monroe.
