Bedford

• The Golden Trail Travelers of Bedford will host a three-day, two-night trip to Marietta, Ohio, June 16. Sites include the Fenton Art Glass Museum, Blennerhasset Mansion, Lee Middleton Doll Museum and Gift Shop, Valley Gem Sternwheeler Dinner Cruise, Grand Central Mall, Smoot Theater Dessert tour and show, and more. Samaria

• Samaria Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 13 on Samaria Road, between Lewis Avenue and Jackman Road. The opening ceremony is at 9 a.m. at Samaria Park. A parade begins at noon from Lennard s Farm. A mile-long garage sale takes place along the route. There will be a flea market at the park. Grace United Methodist Church will serve grilled hot dogs and bratwurst. Other activities include a rummage and bake sale, the Toledo Street Rod Show, and DJ music.Setups at the church yard flea market are $10 per table. Call: 734-856-3490.

Perrysburg

• The Lake Erie British Car Club will sponsor its 11th Annual Classic Car Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 7 at Fort Meigs State Memorial in Perrysburg. Two hundred British cars will be on display. Details: 419-855-8567.

• Perrysburg American Legion Post No. 28 will hold an American flag disposal ceremony at 6 p.m. June 8 at the Schaller Memorial Building, 130 West Indiana Ave. Anyone who has an American flag that needs to be properly destroyed may bring it to the ceremony or drop it off at the Way Library. The Legion will be joined by the Boy Scouts who will help with the ceremony. The public is invited.

Point Place

• The second annual Entire Point Place and Shoreland Community Garage Sale begins at 9 a.m. June 11, 12, and 13 and continues until homeowners and businesses close their doors each day. Details: 419-729-0744.

• The Placers Car Club s Annual Car & Truck Show takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 6 at Friendship Park, 2930 131st St. A rummage sale along with food and beverages will be available.

• The Toledo Yacht Club is hosting a Skippers and Mates Breakfast Buffet at 9 a.m. June 13 at the club, 3900 North Summit St. The speaker will be provided by Toledo Fire and Rescue; the topic will be Fire Fighting Afloat and Ashore, Can t Happen to Me, with a live simulation. Toledo

• Toledo historical and architectural cruises on the Maumee River aboard the Sandpiper boat are presented by the Maumee Valley Heritage Corridor. The two-hour cruises take place from 1-3 p.m. Sundays on June 14 and Sept. 6, and Mondays from 8-10 p.m. July 13 and Aug. 10. Cost is $18; or $15 for a member of any historical organization in the Maumee Valley. Reservations: 419-537-1212.

• Two groups of students from France are to be in the Toledo area this summer through the World Exchange, a nonprofit educational organization. The first group will be here July 13-Aug 1 and the second group from Aug. 1-20. The students are age 14-18, have full insurance, and are fairly fluent in English. Host families are required to provide a bed, daily meals, and time to help students experience as much of American life as possible. Program directors have planned at least two group activities.
