2 Bedford students place in skills contest

TEMPERANCE -Two Bedford High School students took medals in the recent 2010 Michigan Skills-USA championships in Lansing.

Advance Machine Technology 3 program students Brandon Carena and Nicholas Prielipp, took second place in the precision machining competition.

The seniors and six others Bedford High School students advance to the state finals on April 16 to 18 after winning at the regional level.

Also qualifying for the state championships were Jeremy Drouillard, an Advanced Machine Technology 3 student, and Matt McCormick, an engineering design student.

Jeremy, a senior, participated in the precision machining program and Matt, a sophomore, competed in technical drafting.

Advance radio and TV broadcasting students Nick Neal, Michael Cononie, Corey Jagodzinski, and George Hill, who are all seniors, competed in the television (video) production program.

Bedford High School also received an award at the state competition for having over 50 percent increased membership in the Michigan Skills USA State finals.
