MONROE - Cuisine 1300, the campus restaurant run by second-year culinary arts students at Monroe County Community College, will open Friday.

The eatery's menu "American Bistro" has been changed from a casual atmosphere featuring lower-priced items to a more elegant, a la carte dining.

"The culinary students worked with the college's marketing department to develop a new brand identity for the restaurant that graphically represents the return to a more upscale slate of offerings," college spokesman Joe Verkennes said. "Cuisine 1300 has a newly designed brand mark, menu, and promotional flyer."

The luncheon is run by students and chefs Kevin Thomas and Vicki LaValle and open to the public through Dec. 8 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Seating is available at 11:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. in the Warrick Student Services/Administration Building. It will be closed Oct. 20, Nov. 22, Nov. 24 and Nov. 29.

Reservations are required and can be made by calling 734-384-4231 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
