Monroe County's Juried Art Show seeks entries
5/4/2011MONROE -- Anyone who lives, works, or attends school in Monroe County is eligible to enter the 38th annual Juried Art Show at the Ellis Library and Reference Center, 3700 South Custer Rd., which will be held May 19 through June 4.
Entries will be taken at the Ellis Library and Reference Center from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. May 19 and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 20, with judging scheduled for 1 p.m. May 21.
The contest is sponsored by the library system, Monroe City-County Arts Council, and Monroe Art League. Cash awards will be given in the categories of oil/acrylic, water media, graphic/pastels, ceramics/small sculpture, and photography/digital.
A fee of $15.00 is being asked for two pieces and $10.00 for each additional piece. More information is available by calling 734-241-5147 or 734-242-6556.
