TEMPERANCE -- The former Smith Road Elementary School is going to be a busier place.

The school district has agreed to let the Bedford Robotics Team use the gym there as its robotics center. The team has been using the gym but was to have vacated the premises by the end of April. The robotics team will pay the costs of operating the center and will seek sponsors.

The district also has agreed to a request by the Bedford Senior Activity Center to relocate to the Smith Road building from its location at 1653 Samaria Rd. A kitchen will be installed before the move is complete this summer. The center will pay its operational costs. Smith Road Elementary was closed at the end of the last school year as a cost-cutting move.
