Middle school gains assistant principal

MONROE -- Melissa Provo has been appointed assistant principal at Monroe Middle School.

A 12-year veteran of the district, she has taught at the high school and middle school. Recently she was a school improvement coach at the middle school and completed a 12-week administrative internship designed to prep district personnel for administrative positions.

At the middle school, she was one of the designers of an inquiry-based learning project and helped train teachers chosen for it. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Eastern Michigan University and lives in Monroe Township with her husband, Steve, and their three children.
