5K-run, 1-mile walk planned at college
10/8/2012MONROE — Monroe County Community College will hold the Great Pumpkin Pursuit 5K run and walk at 10 a.m. Oct. 20. Race-day registration begins at 9 a.m. in front of the Welch Health Education Center on the main campus, 1555 S. Raisinville Rd.
The race will span the campus and raise money for a scholarship in memory of Marilyn Schroeder, a Monroe County physical therapist who cared for many patients over a career that spanned more than 20 years. She also was a Special Olympics ski coach. The event will include a 1-mile “fun run,” and the race will have age categories for males and females. Registration is $20 before Friday.
