COLUMBUS Authorities say an Ohio State University football player has been arrested on a charge of drunken driving.

A campus police report shows defensive tackle Doug Worthington was charged with two counts of driving under the influence when he was arrested a few blocks from Ohio Stadium about 3:30 Saturday morning.

The Buffalo, New York, native who's less than two weeks shy of his 21st birthday also received two traffic tickets. Police said he was going 41 mph in a 25 mph zone and also cited him for an alleged registration violation.

Worthington didn't immediately respond to a request for comment sent Monday afternoon to his Ohio State e-mail address.

Ohio State spokeswoman Shelly Poe said the school had no immediate comment.
