OSU's Posey ready to face brother
9/16/2010COLUMBUS — Ohio State wide receiver DeVier Posey spent time this summer working out with his older brother Julian.
They'll see each other again Saturday on opposite sides of the field.
Julian Posey is a starting cornerback for Ohio University and it's likely the two brothers will go head-to-head all afternoon when the Bobcats come to Ohio Stadium.
“It's probably going to be the most intense game I've ever played in because I know the guy across from me is going to be giving 120 percent on every play,” said DeVier Posey. “You don't want to get embarrassed.”
He said his older brother became a role model after their father died in 1999.
“When I needed help in my life he was always there, he always made it easy for me,” the Buckeyes player said.
Coach Jim Tressel let his leading receiver know what will be at stake. “I said, if big brother shuts you down, it's going to be a long lifetime for you,” he said.
The coach said it should be an entertaining matchup to watch and hear.
“Those guys talk trash to people they don't even know, I can't even imagine what they'll be doing when they face one another,” Tressel said.
The Poseys both played at Cincinnati LaSalle High School.
Julian Posey, a redshirt senior, scored a touchdown in Ohio's opening win over Wofford, returning a fumble 38 yards for a score.
His brother, a junior, has two TD catches in two games.
Offensive lineman Justin Boren, whose brother Zach starts at fullback for the Buckeyes, said he can't imagine playing against his brother.
“We might get in a fight,” Justin Boren said. “We might both get thrown out if we were playing against each other.”
GOOD START: DE Nathan Williams played more than expected against Miami after sitting out the opener against Marshall.
Williams had been limited throughout fall camp because of a knee injury. He had an interception against the Hurricanes, but didn't register a tackle in 30 plays.
“We were thinking he might play 20, 22, so he exceeded our expectations,” Tressel said. “I'd like to think he'll do nothing but get stronger as time goes.”

Camera crews spent a day with the current St. Louis Rams linebacker who talked about what he's doing now and his time at Ohio State.
