No. 11 Buckeyes blast Boilermakers 49-0
10/23/2010COLUMBUS – Ohio State bounced back from its first loss of the season last weekend at Wisconsin and crushed Purdue 49-0 on Saturday.
Ohio State (7-1, 3-1) left little doubt about what its intentions were on this day, running the ball right at Purdue from the opening possession and quickly building a 14-0 lead in the first eight minutes behind a pair of short touchdown runs by Dan Herron.
After Jordan Hall capped another drive with a one-yard scoring run, Terrelle Pryor threw touchdown passes to DeVier Posey, Dane Sanzenbacher and Corey Brown to make it 42-0 at the half.
Ohio State cleared the bench in the second half, and backup quarterback Joe Bauserman threw a touchdown pass to Spencer Smith to push the lead to 49-0 midway through the fourth quarter.
The Buckeyes had 489 yards of offense in the game, while limiting Purdue (4-3, 2-1) to 118 total yards.
