COLUMBUS – The cloud of uncertainty hanging over the quarterback position for Ohio State has not cleared a bit as the Buckeyes review last weekend’s loss at Miami and prepare to host Colorado here on Saturday.

Ohio State coach Luke Fickell, who watched both senior Joe Bauserman and freshman Braxton Miller struggle against the Hurricanes as the pair combined to go just 4-of-18 passing for 35 yards, said he has not decided which one will start against the Buffaloes, or how the playing time will be split.

“We don’t know what the plan is just yet,” Fickell said Tuesday at his weekly news conference. “I don’t have the crystal ball. I don’t know. We’re going to focus on day-to-day. We have to figure out a way to get better, and get our best 11 on the field.”

Fickell said he wants to “see how guys practice and handle situations” before he makes any decision on the quarterback position for the next game.

“We’re going to look at ourselves,” Fickell said. “We’re not making excuses.”
