COLUMBUS -- Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller was recognized today as Big Ten Conference offensive player of the week.

The sophomore threw four touchdown passes -- including a game-winning 72-yard pass to Devin Smith -- and ran for a 55-yard touchdown in the Buckeyes' 35-28 victory over California. Miller completed 16 of 30 passes for a career-high 245 yards and rushed for 75 yards on 12 carries.

He is the Buckeyes' first recognized league offensive player of the week since Chris Wells earned the honor in November 2008, though all records and awards from the 2010 season were vacated.
