Can't we all dress up?

If I had my way, I'd still be dressing up for Halloween and trick-or-treating for candy. But for some reason this is frowned upon after age 12 or so.

I find this ironic. We all spend so much time complaining about the stress and horror of real life. Wouldn't it be better if we allowed ourselves one night a year to dress up like a goblin and exchange something chocolate? I think we all would be a lot happier for it.

As a parent I can trick-or-treat by proxy. And with a baby, I can dress up in something to match and be considered clever. After age 5, it's just weird. And forget roping my teenager into it -- even if we went as cow pokes.

Adults need to invent other reasons to wear costumes, consume something special, and have a wonderfully spooky night. Enter the BOO Bash! dance party being thrown by Downtown Perrysburg Inc.
