A Holiday Pottery class at the 577 Foundation in Perrysburg constructed its own inedible version of a gingerbread house Thursday morning.

Ten women attended a course, which included the creation of clay gingerbread-style houses. The program is one of more than 25 pottery classes, ranging from a single day, like the Holiday Pottery event, to programs lasting six weeks.

Pottery instructor Julie Beutler has been leading classes with the foundation for 15 years. She says the holiday classes are usually popular.

"It's clay," Beutler said, "how can you not be happy to get dirty?"

The cost of the Holiday Pottery class was $35, though classes range from $13 to $80 and vary in skill level.
