Perrysburg people help at vulnerable times

You know the vulnerable, shameful, embarrassed feeling you get when you make a bonehead mistake and have no legitimate excuse.

It is a feeling teenagers get when they do something dumb and their parents give them the "disappointed" and "I thought you knew better" speech, and you can't say anything because you are the idiot that made the mistake.

I've felt that twice in Perrysburg so far, but great Perrysburg residents bailed me out both times.

Last week I locked my keys in my car like a 16-year-old who just got his license. I was at the Perrysburg Township offices for a story, around people I work with all the time and I have the vulnerable, shameful, embarrassed feeling from my bonehead mistake. There was nothing I could do. I was so embarrassed of my stupidity I wanted to run home, but I wised up and walked over to the Perrysburg Township police station for help.
