Thursday evening I walked through the Perrysburg Farmer's Market and I learned it's much more than just a shopping experience.
It is a community event. You may not be buying anything, but people go to see others. Children run into people from school, and parents are there to see friends and socialize.
It reminds me of high school football games in South Lyon, Mich., where I grew up. Even if you didn't have a friend or family member on the team or in the band, you went. You went to socialize with nearly the entire community. While some cared a lot about the game, others came just to see each other and chat.
