Sylvania area crime log, fire runs 8/27

Here are the crime reports from Aug. 20 through Aug. 27 from Sylvania and Sylvania Township police departments. Also included are the fire runs from the Sylvania Township Fire Department.

Sylvania Police

Aug. 20

Theft. Kroger, 7545 Sylvania Ave., reported an unknown person stole a KitchenAid mixer. It was valued at $350.

Aug. 22

Theft. Dennis Assenmacher, 7800 block of Brint Road, reported an unknown person broke his truck window, and took an Easton hockey stick valued at $170, 40 compact discs worth $750. The vehicle was parked at Sylvania Country Club, 5201 Corey Rd.

Aug. 23

Theft. Todd Gaertner, 5200 block of Main Street, reported stolen an iPod valued at $250.

Aug. 25

Theft. Kroger, 6235 Monroe St., reported an unidentified person stole 10 cases of Budweiser and 12 cases of Bud Light beer. The items had combined value of $374.

Theft. Damion Baer, 6000 block of Glenmore Road, reported stolen from his vehicle an iPod valued at $150, a skateboard valued at $250, and a vehicle part valued at $50.

Aug. 26

Theft. Toledo Islamic Academy, 5225 W. Alexis Rd., reported a known suspect took $2,390 worth of computer and ViewSonic projector equipment. The suspect did return the items upon demand.

Theft. BP Barney’s Convenience Mart, 6127 Monroe St., reported that an unknown suspect stole a bag of M&Ms worth $1.09.

Theft. Nicholas Aubry, 12000 block of Mulberry Road, Ottawa Lake, Mich., reported an unknown person took an iPhone valued at $25, set of prescription glasses valued at $250, $5 in coins, and various credit cards from his car. The vehicle was parked at 6000 block of Glenmore Road.

Burglary. Lauren Godlewski, 6500 block of Cornwall Court, reported $500, an iPad valued at $700, and an iPod valued at $250 taken from her home.

Sylvania Township Police

Aug. 19

Theft. Lan Tan, 6000 block of Acres Road, reported $3,000 stolen from her home.

Aug. 21

Theft. Terry’s Automotive Service, 3775 Centennial Road, reported 100 semi-truck batteries stolen. The items had a combined value of $1,200.

Aug. 22

Theft. Ottawa Industrial Products, 2717 Reynolds Rd., reported a stolen a flatbed utility trailer valued at $400, a flatbed snowmobile trailer valued at $400, a snowmobile valued at $800, and a boat trailer valued at $800.

Theft. Joyce Johnson, 2800 block of Page Lindsay Lane, reported 180 pills of prescription medicine missing from her home.

Aug. 23

Theft. Alie Abouahmed, 6000 block of Secor Road, reported $50 taken from his locker at YMCA and JCC of Greater Toledo, 6465 Sylvania Ave.

Aug. 24

Theft. Target, 5225 Monroe St., reported an unidentified person took two AT&T pre-paid cell phones, valued at $250 each.

Theft. Golf Galaxy, 5223 Monroe St., reported an unknown person stole a TaylorMade golf driver. It was valued at $400.

Aug. 25

Theft. Walmart, 5821 W. Central Ave. reported 60 battery cores stolen. The combined value was $540.

Aug. 26

Breaking and entering. Jim White Toyota, 6123 W. Central Ave., reported that an unknown person stole $128 from the petty cash drawer.

Theft. Verizon Wireless, 5215 Monroe St., reported one iPhone 5 valued at $836 taken by an unidentified suspect.

Theft. Raymond Dupuis, 3200 block of Centennial Road, reported $2,000 in silver coins taken from his home. The items were recovered at 6600 block of Maplewood Avenue.

Sylvania Township Fire Department

Aug. 22

4200 block of Holland-Sylvania Road, excessive heat, scorch burns.

Aug. 23

Intersection of Monroe Street and Alexis Road flammable gas.
