The Fulton County Fair, dubbed one of Ohio's largest county fairs, will kick off Friday with lots of music, food, and fun.

Entertainment features five-time Country Music Association Male Vocalist of the Year Vince Gill, whose headliner concert will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Tickets are $22, $20, and $18. The Van-Dells will perform a '50s and '60s-style concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Another big-name entertainer, REO Speedwagon, will take the grandstand stage at 7:30 p.m. Sunday to perform a catalog of hits that spans more than four decades. Tickets are $20, $18, and $16.

New at the fair this year is the COSI Science Spot, a traveling exhibition from the Columbus Science Center that includes hands-on activities that will help children and adults learn about basic science concepts such as force, motion, magnetism, and space. The fair will feature farm-oriented displays and shows, including plowing shows on Saturday and Sunday.

The tractor pulls will roar at 6:30 p.m. Friday, and at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, harness racing will display a different kind of horsepower. The demolition derby begins at 6 p.m. Sept. 8.

The fair runs through Sept. 8 at Fulton County Fairgrounds, 8514 State Route 108, Wauseon. Gates are open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Admission is $5 for adults. Children younger than 15 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult. On Saturday, veterans and their spouses will be admitted free until 6 p.m. School-aged children will be admitted free on Tuesday and seniors, 65 and over, will receive free admission on Wednesday until 6 p.m. Concerts are not included in the cost of admission. Phineas and Ferb of the Disney Channel hit show of the same name are jumping out of the TV and onto the stage. The brothers, known for getting into all kinds of mischief over their summer vacation, will create their next big invention Saturday at the Seagate Convention Centre. Anything is possible with Phineas and Ferb as the duo works with Perry the platypus, also known as Agent P, to foil another one of Dr. Doofenshmirtz's evil plans. Shows begin at 4 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $14, $20, $30 VIP floor, and $45 front row.

Ottawa Hills Memorial Park will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks with a wall of remembrance. The wall is 24 feet long, four feet high, and made of heavy vinyl with wood framework. It lists the names of the 2,976 people who perished and images from the tragedy. A digital guestbook will be provided for visitors to sign. The free, public event begins Thursday and runs through the end of the month.
