Scene: Rocket Bar

10/11/2012

Address: 135 S. Byrne Rd.

Origin of your name: We wanted to capture the essence of the rock band crowd along with the college crowd. This has helped us to expand to all genres and we feature many different types of events.

What makes your place unique? We have a bar side and a venue side. The bar side is open weekly for happy hour, and on Wednesdays we have a beer pong tournament that is free to enter with $100 to the winner. Thursday is country night and Friday is country line dancing with our DJ. We also have rock bands over there on Saturdays as well.

On the venue side we offer three premiere nights. Thursday night is college/club night. Friday and Saturday are concert nights with a variety of different acts.

What kind of entertainment do you feature? Rock and roll, heavy metal, hip-hop, rhythm and blues, dubstep, classic rock, and country. We also have special events such as birthday parties, runway shows, foam parties, and other theme parties.

Clientele: College-age (18 and older), and fans of heavy metal, grunge, classic rock, hip hop, and dubstep.

Upcoming events/entertainment: Dubtronica, Saturday; Local Anesthetic, Oct. 20, and Badfish a Tribute to Sublime Nov. 13.
