  • The world's most famous mouse is in Toledo beginning tonight and lasting through Christmas Eve, and he'll perform with many of his friends on ice.

That's right. The fascinating performance with Mickey Mouse and some 60 of his friends will be in downtown Toledo for "Disney on Ice: 100 Years of Magic," at Huntington Center. The first of seven shows opens at 7 tonight, and the last show is set for 1 p.m. Monday, Christmas Eve.

Not only will the beloved Disney characters entertain the young and young at heart, but the audience can expect a stellar performance on ice by professional skaters. They will enthrall and do triple jumps and spins, lifts, throws, and some athletic figure skating moves, too.

And just as there is only one Mickey Mouse, there is only one love for him: Minnie Mouse. So what's a show with Mickey and Minnie without Donald Duck? He'll be there, too, as will Jiminy Cricket, Pinocchio, and characters from a range of endearing Disney stories, including the princesses.

Little children, their older siblings, moms, dads, aunts, uncles, and grandparents will remember how much Disney is a part of their lives when they see characters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Alice in Wonderland, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and Toy Story. Oh, and there also are The Incredibles, Tinker Bell, The Princess and the Frog, Tangled, and Brave.

While the performance has also been fondly known as the Magical World of Disney on Ice, it has been updated with characters from Finding Nemo and Lilo & Stitch.

Disney promises that the audience will be thoroughly captivated for the complete performance.

"It's all in the title," said Dan DiPietro-James, Disney public relations manager.

"Disney On Ice presents 100 Years of Magic really captures the last 100 years of iconic Disney! More than 60 Disney characters are brought together in amazingly choreographed numbers from your favorite Disney stories. From Mickey & Minnie, to Donald, Pinocchio, and even Nemo, they all come together in a dazzling display of skating talent, enthralling audiences around the world," he added.
