Wedding specialists to offer information, advice this weekend

The "Super Bowl" of Bridal Shows is headed to the Stranahan Theater this weekend. The two-day event will feature more than 125 wedding specialists showcasing their merchandise and talents. Wedding planners, venue representatives, bakers, DJs, florists, chefs, and more will be there to offer advice, displays, and presentations to future brides and grooms in planning their weddings.

The event runs from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $8 in advance and $10 at the door and includes entry for both show days. Advance tickets are available at all Andersons locations.

Whether you missed them the first time or you just want to see them again, The Lights Before Christmas are coming back on at the Toledo Zoo. Enjoy the lights one last time at an Encore Presentation of the display, which features more than 200 lighted animal images, on Friday and Saturday, from 3 to 9 p.m. each night. Winter playland activities, including a walk-in-snow globe and a 15-foot rocking horse, will also be open. Admission is $12 for adults and $9 for children ages 2 through 11 and seniors 60 and older. The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library will kickoff its Knitting Be TWEEN the Ages series Monday at the Heatherdowns Branch Library, 3265 Glanzman Rd. The series is open to experienced adult knitters and children between the ages of 9 and 13 and encourages literacy and intergenerational mentorship through knitting. Tweens will learn pattern reading and basic techniques, with assistance from adult knitters. The series is scheduled to take place weekly from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays.
