Festival celebrates Toledo lighthouse

The Toledo Harbor Lighthouse Preservation Society will host its 10th annual Toledo Waterfront Lighthouse Festival from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Maumee Bay State Park, where guests can enjoy scenic views of the historic lighthouse. The lighthouse is known for its intricate design details and architectural elements. Participants can enjoy arts and crafts, a magician, food, a silent auction, ice cream, and boat rides to the lighthouse for tours, weather permitting. Music will be provided by the American Legion Band and the Toledo School for the Arts Steel Drums. The Toledo Symphony Concert Band will also perform Saturday. Sunday's festivities will conclude with a concert by the Northcoast Band. Admission and parking are free. Guests can make donations to the Preservation Society to help restore the lighthouse. ■ Comedic actress, philanthropist, radio and talk show host Sheryl Underwood is headed to the Toledo Funny Bone to serve up laughs. Underwood is best known for her co-hosting gig on the television show The Talk, where she shares the stage with co-hosts Sarah Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler, and Julie Chen. She also hosts a radio comedy segment on the Steve Harvey Morning Show. She has appeared on the Dr. Phil Show, Fox and Friends, and The Joy Behar Show. Shows at the Funny Bone begin at 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday and 7 and 10 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at the box office or online at funnybonecentraol.com.

■ EPIC Toledo (Engaging People, Inspiring Change), the region's largest young professionals group, will host its second annual T-Town Dash at 5:30 p.m. today. Participants will work with a team of fellow young professionals to find clues at landmarks, venues, and businesses in the downtown area. These clues will lead the team through activities and challenges and eventually guide them to a final location and party. The event is open to the public and people of all ages. Teams will meet at the main entrance of Fifth Third Field. Registration is $10 and can be paid at the event or in advance at epictoledo.com.
