Comedian Jerry Seinfeld comes to Stranahan Theater on Friday

    Comedian Jerry Seinfeld is returning to Toledo for a show Friday. The funny man will perform his signature stand-up routine at the Stranahan Theater. Seinfeld has been hailed for his uncanny ability to joke about the easily relatable little things in life. The show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $48 to $78 and are available at the Stranahan box office, online at ticketmaster.com and etix.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, and by phone at 419-381-8851.

     

    ■ Downtown Bowling Green will usher in the holiday season with a sleighfull of activities this weekend. Festivities kick off Friday with horse-drawn wagon rides from 5 to 9 p.m., Christmas carols by the Bowling Green High School Madrigals at 5 p.m., and more. Downtown businesses will host open houses with music, refreshments, and holiday deals from 5 to 8 p.m. A tree-lighting ceremony is planned for 7 p.m. at the library. A holiday parade will be at 10 a.m. Saturday on Main Street. From 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, children can place a call to Santa Claus during the Phone the North Pole event at the library.     ■ The Toledo fire and police departments will face off in a charity hockey game Saturday at the Huntington Center. The event will feature interactive firefighting courses for kids, antique and modern fire engines, police cars, a SWAT truck, tank, and more. Public safety day begins at 2 p.m. and the hockey game will be at 4 p.m. Tickets are $13 each and include admission to the Toledo Walleye game at 7 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Local 92 and Toledo police charities.

    ■ Local play and screen writer Opal Dunlap will present her most recent production, God Knows My Needs The Movie, Sunday at the Maumee Indoor Theater. The movie follows a young woman as she struggles with caring for her sister after the death of their mother, exploring issues of love and faith.
