Old West End to host annual Tours de Noel

Opening ceremonies will kick off the Old West End Tours de Noel at 3:30 p.m. Saturday with the Santa Parade, town crier, and tree lighting in Commons Park. The tours will begin on Sunday and feature seven homes and a church. The homes are the Milmine-Stewart House/Toledo History Museum, 2001 Collingwood Blvd; Forrester-Stambaugh Home, 2636 Parkwood Ave; Mansion View Inn, 2035 Collingwood Blvd; Kauffman-Vinnedge-Spitulski Home, 2110 Scottwood Ave; Hallenbeck-Illenden Home, 2702 Parkwood Ave; Hixson-St.Clair Home, 2471 Robinwood Ave, and the Ann Manor-Alexander Home, 2200 Scottwood Ave. The church is First Congregational Church, 2315 Collingwood Blvd. The tour is the annual fund-raiser for the Women of the Old West End and will run from noon to 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for the whole tour and $5 for a tour of a single building. For people 55 and older, the whole-tour price is $10. Children 15 and younger are admitted free when they are with an adult. ■ Sauder Village will host its first Holiday Lantern tour of the season on Saturday. Visitors can experience a turn-of-the-century Christmas with costumed guides and historical characters. Guests can partake in holiday customs and celebrations of the 1900s and hear stories about Christmas' past, as well as the history of northwest Ohio. At the church, visitors can sing songs and hymns. The Sauder Village Gift Shop, Lauber General Store, and Herb Shop will be open during the tours for holiday shopping. Tours last about 90 minutes and begin every half hour between 4 and 8:30 p.m. In addition to Saturday's tour, tours are scheduled for Dec. 6-7 and 13-14. Registration is required. ■ The Polish American Concert Band will host its traditional holiday concert Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Ohio Theater. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at the door. The Ohio Theater is at 3106 Lagrange St.

 

■ An evening of Latin-infused music will be featured Friday when La Traizion plays at the Eastside Cantina. The Houston band will showcase its latest hit "Quiero Volver Contigo" and the Cumbia mix of Bruno Mars' "When I Was Your Man." Doors open at 9 p.m. and admission is $8 before 10 and $10 after that. Eastside Cantina is at 125 Oak St.
