Walbridge marks centennial season

■ Walbridge area businesses and committees have teamed up to celebrate the village with year-end centennial events. Glimmering lights will shine throughout the village Sunday during the Holiday Parade of Lights. Guests will line up for the parade at 5 p.m. at Railway Park. The parade begins at 6 p.m. and ends on North Main Street near Veterans Park, where a centennial tree-lighting ceremony will take place. Children can meet and take photos with Santa and refreshments will be served. Other centennial events will take place throughout the month and include community Christmas caroling at 6 p.m. Dec. 22 at Veterans Park. Information: walbridgeohio.org.

■ Disney on Ice: Passport to Adventure continues at the Huntington Center tonight with additional shows Friday through Sunday. Many of Disney's franchise characters have made the trip to Toledo to take guests on a magical journey through the Pride Lands with Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa, under the sea with Ariel and all her aquatic friends, off to Never Land with Peter Pan and Wendy, and to Hawaii to visit Lilo and Stitch. Shows are at 7 p.m. tonight and Friday and 1 and 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Ticket prices vary by day and show time and range from $12 to $54. Tickets can be purchased at the Huntington Center box office, online at ticketmaster.com, or by phone at 419-321-5007.

■ The African Peoples Association and the Center for International Studies and Programs will hold the fourth annual AIDS Awareness Gala Friday in the Student Union Auditorium at the University of Toledo. The event, with a formal dress code of black, red, and white, will feature singing, dance, and poetry by UT students, along with guest speakers who will discuss the effects of the AIDS virus and ways to reduce the spread of infection. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and tickets are $8 for members of the African Peoples Association, $10 in advance at the "Ask Rocky" desk in the Student Union, and $15 at the door. ■ A fund-raiser for the Black Swamp Blues Society Blues Challenge winners will be held Sunday at the Ottawa Tavern, 1815 Adams St. The proceeds will help cover expenses for the Blues Challenge winners to travel to Memphis. Among the bands appearing Sunday are Blues Charmers, The Good, The Bad and The Blues, and Chitlin and Bones. Music will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Admission is $10.
