2 men rob Charter One on Lewis Ave.

12/25/2000

Two men robbed Charter One Bank, 5911 Lewis Ave., of an undetermined amount of money Saturday morning.

About 11:23 a.m., the men entered the bank and one of them jumped over the counter. The suspect behind the counter opened a black cloth bag and demanded money from each teller, according to police.

A report said the second suspect stood in the back of the bank holding a gun. The first suspect jumped back over the counter, and both exited a rear entrance of the bank into a vehicle that drove north on Lewis.

The first suspect was described as a black male, 6 feet tall, 165 pounds, with a dark knit cap, dark grungy jeans, dark pullover sweat-top, light-colored gloves, and a dark scarf around his face.

The second suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, brown hair, wearing dark clothes, a dark ski mask, and holding a silver revolver.

The suspects left in what was described as a silver, blue Buick, 1980s model two-door. No one was hurt, and the case remained under investigation.
