Federal panel indicts alleged bank robber, 2 others

Indictments have been filed in U.S. District Court against three people, including a man accused of robbing a Toledo KeyBank branch.

James Lee Adams, 28, of Cherry Street was indicted for allegedly robbing the KeyBank branch at 3031 Collingwood Blvd. on Dec. 20.

Mr. Adams faces a $250,000 fine and 20 years in prison if convicted, according to a statement issued by U.S. Attorney Emily Sweeney's office. The charge was filed as a result of an FBI investigation.

Roger Tanner, 57, of Arcadia, Ohio, was indicted for allegedly making threats against a U.S. bankruptcy judge and a Toledo attorney.

He faces a possible $250,000 fine and five years in prison if convicted. Mr. Tanner allegedly threatened Judge Richard Speer and the attorney, whose name was not mentioned in a statement issued by Ms. Sweeney's office. The charge was filed as a result of an FBI investigation.

A Detroit man was charged for allegedly passing counterfeit checks at National City Bank branches in Toledo.

A five-count indictment was filed against Asuquo L. Eyo, Jr., 28, according to a statement issued by Ms. Sweeney's office. The U.S. Secret Service, which conducted the investigation, alleges that Mr. Eyo possessed $269,000 in stolen checks.

The charges include conspiracy, possession of stolen checks, possession of counterfeit checks, and passing counterfeit checks. He faces a $250,000 fine and 10 years in prison if convicted.
