Bar, carryout robbed on West Sylvania Ave.

A bar and a carryout were robbed last night on West Sylvania Avenue, police said.

Korner Carryout, 702 West Sylvania, was robbed by two men wearing ski masks about 7:30 p.m., Detective Brian Twining said. One showed a gun and demanded money from a clerk.

Police said the men probably are white, one 6 feet tall and the other 6 feet, 3 inches. They fled on foot. The amount taken was not known.

Distractions, 1901 West Sylvania, was held up about 8:25 p.m. by a man with a gun wearing a hooded sweatshirt pulled over his face. He took an undetermined amount of money from the register and fled on foot, Detective Twining said. The robber was described as black, about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and of medium build.
