Vacant apartment building heavily damaged by blaze

A two-alarm fire at an apartment building at 1142 Lincoln Ave. caused heavy damage to the structure, police said in a report yesterday.

The fire was reported at 6:10 a.m., and police were forced to place barricades at Forest Avenue, Prospect Avenue, and Hoag Street as fire fighters used three major water lines to fight the blaze.

Toledo fire Lt. Brent Weddle said the fire was concentrated at the rear of the structure on all four floors. He said the blaze remained under investigation.

The brick structure was vacant, police reported.
