Woman, infant in endangering inquiry missing

6/5/2001

Toledo police and Lucas County Children Services workers are looking for a 21-year-old woman and her eight-month-old child in connection with a child-endangering investigation.

Police reported arriving at 1805 Lagrange St. on a call about 12:45 a.m. yesterday and finding the home with clothes and trash all over the floor and standing dirty water and cockroaches in the kitchen. Authorities also reported a toilet backed up in the bathroom and dog feces that had been “sitting a long time” on the floor.

Rod Brandt, a children services spokesman, said his agency is concerned about the well-being of the woman and her child and are actively looking for them. Police said no charges were filed. “This will be a matter for the police and the prosecutor's office,” Mr. Brandt said. “We want to see if the mother and the child are fine and how we can help them.”
