Clues sought in holdup of Glass City credit union

6/30/2001

Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about the man who robbed the Glass City Federal Credit Union, 2214 West Laskey Rd., this month.

At 1:45 p.m. on June 19, the bandit handed a teller a hand-written note that read: “Give me all your large bills. I have a gun, and I will shoot.”

The teller gave him an undisclosed amount of cash. The robber then ran from the credit union.

He was described as black, 25 to 35 years old, about 6 feet, 4 inches tall, 240 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He had a mustache and goatee. He wore a dark, short-sleeve plaid shirt, blue jeans, and a baseball cap.

Witnesses reported a suspicious teal, two-door Pontiac Grand Am in the parking lot within an hour of the robbery. A white female and black male, matching the description of the robber, sat inside.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Crime Stopper program. Callers may remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward.
