Police say drive-by suspect bolted

A man wanted in a drive-by shooting of a Toledo teenager was arrested June 29 in Kentucky after fleeing police there.

Terrance Lamar Pettis, 22, of 2638 Maplewood Ave., is being held without bond in the Graves County jail in Mayfield, Toledo police Detective Vince Mauro said.

Mr. Pettis was arrested about 1:30 a.m. after he bolted when stopped for questioning about the Toledo crime, according to a Mayfield police report. He has been indicted by a Lucas County grand jury on charges of attemp|ted murder, felonious assault, and participation in a criminal gang. Another Toledo man, Jermaine T. Morgan, also was indicted on charges related to the shooting.

Mr. Pettis is accused of seriously wounding Dennis Scott, 16, in a park near the boy's Highland Avenue home.

Mr. Morgan, 20, of 2437 Holly|wood Ave., was driving the car, according to police. It is not clear whether young Scott was the intended target. Police said the shooting might have been gang-related.
