Sylvania Township police are seeking information about an assault that put a 23-year-old Toledo man in the hospital on life support.

On April 19, about 12:45 a.m., a township police officer arrived in a restaurant parking lot in the 5100 block of Monroe Street and found Thomas Carney unconscious.

Detectives are investigating the assault that started in Amigo's Cantina and moved into the parking lot. They say they do not know what started the quarrel. Mr. Carney, who since has recovered, confronted the suspect and was assaulted. He spent two days in the hospital, authorities said.

The suspect was described as a balding white man in his 30s, about 6 feet, 1 inch tall, weighing about 250 pounds.

Anyone with information about the assault should call Detective Todd Slaman at 419-882-2055 or the Crime Stopper program at 419-255-1111.
